Your Mother Was a Hamster and Your Cocktail Smells of Elderflower!

My apologies to Monty Python. And my accolades to the French! If you haven’t yet enjoyed a cocktail with a touch of St. Germain in it, you are missing out. Get thee to a liquor store!

I bought a bottle for personal experiments, and have found the following combinations irresistible:

White Wine Spritzer: In a white wine glass, add 1 ounce of St. Germain, 2 ounces of White Wine, and top with seltzer water or tonic. Serve with a lime wedge.

French 76: In a champagne flute, add 1 ounce of St. Germain, 1 ounce of Bombay Sapphire Gin, and top with Champagne. Garnish with a basil leaf.

Gin & Tonic: In a highball or old-fashioned glass, add 1 ounce of St. Germain, 2 ounces of Hendrick’s Gin, and top with tonic water. Garnish with a cucumber wedge.

Now, it’s your turn. If you’ve tried St. Germain, what is your favorite cocktail? Inquiring minds want to know!
