Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon (California 2007)

On Independence Day, we enjoyed this feisty Cab, which I purchased at HEB just for the occasion – celebrating our liberty. Which sadly means, I have procrastinated three weeks in publishing this review. Life interferes, as we all know, and I beg your forgiveness for the delay in posting. Though, rest assured, there was no delay in the drinking. (Hi Mom!)

So, to the wine!

In the glass, this Cabernet was a dark, almost-black red and smelled of leather, oak, and plums. The flavor was mostly fruit, however, with a little earth and leather on the finish. It was lush, velvety-smooth, and delicious. It’s officially one of my favorites!

This wine would be wonderful with steak or grilled meat, but we enjoyed it with barbeque. (It was July 4th, after all.)  So, get a bottle and enjoy a happy July 24th!

Hi Jeff! Thanks for stopping by. Liberty School is a favorite here at Chez Knighton, and I’m glad you enjoy it, too.

If you like Liberty School, you should also try 337 Cab from Lodi, Ca. Yummy and under $10.
