Realizing that it’s more than a week late, of course, I thought I might share with all you nice folks the wine we enjoyed during our Thanksgiving meal. Two wines were on offer, one red and one white. These:
Gabbiano 2008 Pinot Grigio & Trapiche 2007 Malbec
I’ll say this, first and foremost, both wines were exemplary and had similar celebratory price tags. But the best with turkey and dressing, by far, was the Pinot Grigio which was cool and refreshing with tropical fruit and citrus flavors and a nice buttery mouth-feel. Delish!
The Trapiche was also excellent, even if I wished we’d had it with lamb or beef. Nonetheless, it was bursting with crushed berries and a little pepper and smoke with a jammy, velvety mouth-feel.
You can’t go wrong with either choice!
