Dinner & Wine with Friends

Our dear friends, Sharon & Dave joined us for dinner Friday evening.  They are two of the most interesting and delightful people I know, generous and kind souls with a wonderful take on the world around them. They make me think, reassess my assumptions and consider life from a different point of view, and that’s just one reason I love them.

Another reason is that Dave enjoys wine almost as much as I do. He and Sharon provided the beverages for the evening: Concannon Pinot Noir (California 2007) and Wolf Blass Yellow Label Cabernet Sauvignon (South Australia 2007). Dave did good.

The Conannon was round, fruity, and velvety-smooth. The Wolf Blass was juicy, oaky, and herbal.  I have to admit that I preferred the Cabernet to the Pinot Noir, but both are excellent choices for dinner with friends.

If you’re in Texas, you can find both at Spec’s for around $13.  Get some to share.

    Always so humble, you mentioned nothing of your AMAZING smoky salmon, zippy provencal sauce and pasta, and perfectly done veggies. Y'all are incredibly talented.
